The DB

Application

The metal-enclosure Distribution Board (DB) Type A and B series are designed to suit either a single or a three-phase electrical system. Both series can accommodate up to 18 modular widths, 28 standard models. The DB can be used as load centers in residential as well as commercial premises.

Material

To protect against mechanical damage, PE and N tinned copper terminal bars are used. The tin-plating protect the bars against high humidity which can oxidize the copper surface. The panel’s surface is coated with epoxy powder and oven-baked for quality finishing. Electro-galvanised sheet steel is used with thickness of 1.2mm to 2.0mm (upon request) for the enclosure to provide high rigidity and durability to withstand harsh factory conditions (up to IP32).

Others

A wide range of LV switch gear components from LK Electric such as the MCCB, MCB, Switch fuse and Isolator can be mounted on the Distribution Board as incoming components. Cut-out of the MCCB toggle is a standard for the DB Type B series, whereas high-impact polycarbonate windows, which is easy for inspection and maintenance, are for the Type A series. Cut-out holes for incoming and outgoing cables on cables trays or trunkings are also provided on the top and bottom of every panel. No further modification is required during installation. All Distribution Board doors feature a convenient 180 horizontal opening angle.

International standards

The DB metal-enclosure series conform and meet the requirements of these international governing bodies:

  • IEC 439-3 from the International Electrotechnical Committee
  • BS 5486-13  from British Standards
  • VDE 0603 from Germany
  • MS 1445-3 from Malaysia Standards
