INTRODUCTION
A full day seminar on Power Quality jointly organised by The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM) and Copper Development CentreSouth East Asia (CDC . SEA) will be held on 17th October 2000 at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur.

The requirement on power quality has increased tremendously because of the advancement in the usage of computer driven equipment. The expectation on power quality is no longer the same as before. Modern equipment will not tolerate even very short duration of voltage disturbance. The effect of harmonics interfering with the normal operation of electrical equipment is also very wide spread.

In view of the above, the industry in general is facing problems and difficulties in the area of power quality. This seminar will attempt to introduce the basics of power quality issues and provide the available approaches to enhance power quality.
