INTRODUCTION
KANCIL FOOD INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD. is the first fully composite ice cream factory wholly owned by Malay Malaysians. Started by the late Mr. Syed Mohamed around 40 years ago, it was a small cottage industry in the royal town of Kuala Kangsar in the state of Perak Darul Ridzuan, and at that time it was known as 'Syarikat Ais Krim Kancil'. The company was later under the direction of the late founder son, Mohd Othman Bin Syed Mohamed.
Through the Government call for more Malay Malaysian owned company to play an active role in the building of the new Malay Malaysian Entrepreneurs into the economy, Mr. Mohd. Othman and his wife together with friends decided to take heed to the government call and launch an aggressive campaign into the business world with a new image and company called KANCIL FOOD INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD. (KFISB)
KANCIL FOOD INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD. with the cooperation of MARA office of the state of Perak Darul Ridzuan started producing an assortment of ice cream products and stick ice confectioneries into the market that were par excellence with the majority of ice cream producers found in the country.
COMPANY OPERATIONS
During this time, the operation of the company was headed by En Othman with the help of two executives who are incharge of planning, business development and technicalities.
Among some of the items produced are drumstick, cup and lolly ice creams.
To compete with the quality of the available ice creams in the market, KFI is equipped with advance machines from Italy. The machine suppliers have also agreed to work together with KFI to improve on the production quality of KANCIL ice cream.
COMPANY VISION
The management of KFI hopes that the company's products would be acknowledged as halal products that can compete in the market, to answer the Government's call to increase local products.

As a bumiputera company that is sensitive to the dietary problems of Muslims, it is therefore our goal to continue in producing halal products that are of high quality and is in accordance to "fardhu kifayah".

With the assistance of MARA and other government agencies, KFI hopes to be the best bumiputera ice cream manufacturing company and can compete with other ice creams giants.
